Growing Character Through Indonesian Culture and Music Performance

Learning and enjoying traditional clothes and local songs is one way for students to appreciate the rich culture of our country, Indonesia. As part of their learning and self-expression, the students prepared a performance by playing a local song with melodica while wearing traditional clothes. The preparation and performance help them to develop strong character and gave them valuable experiences.

During the practice, the students learn discipline. They practiced their parts regularly for about a month, followed the teacher’s directions, and learned to be responsible for their own part. They also learned about harmony and teamwork. Each student required to listen carefully to others and play at the right time. Only by working together, they could present a harmonious performance.

Finally, the students developed confidence to get on the stage and the courage to show what they had learned and practice. Moreover, wearing traditional clothes and playing local songs helped them feel proud of the culture.

Through this activity, students learned that loving Indonesia can be shown by knowing, appreciating, and proudly sharing our culture.
